The article explores postcards as predecessors of modern messaging apps and as sources for studying family history, everyday life, and communication in different historical periods. Using the digital postcard collection “Pishu tebe” as an example, it shows how postcards can reveal social ties, language practices, historical experiences, and family genealogy.
