DobroMedia: “From Nizhny with Love…” — a project helping young people better understand history

“From Nizhny with Love…” is an educational and cultural project that helps young people rediscover history through authentic pre-revolutionary postcards. Personal messages, everyday scenes, and living emotions from the late 19th and early 20th centuries reveal the past not as a list of dates, but as a deeply human and relatable experience.

Through workshops, exhibitions, and creative meetings, participants work with original postcards, explore historical handwriting and styles of correspondence, and learn how people stayed connected and shared their feelings more than a century ago. The project pays special attention to the history of Nizhny Novgorod, bringing familiar streets and places back to life.
