Workshop on Antique Postcards “The Past in Postcards”

Libraries of the Sormovsky District are hosting the local campaign “A Book as a Gift — A Heart in Return,” organized as part of the 10th nationwide initiative “Give Books with Love.”

At the Central District Library named after May 1, a workshop on antique postcards titled “The Past in Postcards” took place. The session was led by Timur Khusyanov — Deputy Dean at HSE University and founder of the Pochtovoe project.

Participants explored the history of postcards, discovered their cultural value, and learned about the особенities of pre-revolutionary correspondence. The practical part sparked particular interest: guests tried to decipher handwritten texts on vintage postcards and connect with living history through these postal traces of the past.

The event became part of the campaign’s educational program and brought together lovers of books, history, and postal culture.
