Add a Site to the Map

Help us expand the postal heritage map.

We collect information about places and objects connected with postal services, postal history, and postal culture: post office buildings and former postal stations, monuments, memorial plaques, mailboxes, street art, and other sites that preserve the memory of postal communication.

If you know of such a place in your city or have come across one while traveling, tell us about it.

What You Can Add

Examples include:

  • historic post office buildings;
  • former postal stations and postal yards;
  • monuments to postmen, communications workers, and postal services;
  • memorial and commemorative plaques;
  • historic and unusual mailboxes;
  • murals, graffiti, and other works of street art with postal themes;
  • postal museums and permanent museum exhibitions;
  • other sites connected with the history and culture of the postal service.

If you are not sure whether a site is suitable, feel free to submit it anyway — we will review it during moderation.

How It Works

Fill in the form below and, if possible, provide the exact location of the site. Coordinates can be detected automatically, or you can place a marker on the map manually.

Add your own photographs of the site and briefly describe it and its connection with postal history.

After submission, your entry will be sent for moderation. We will verify the information, clarify or supplement the record if necessary, and once approved, the site will appear on the project map.

If the site is already on the map, your submission will still be useful: we can add new photographs to the existing entry and credit you among the contributors who helped collect information about it.

Before Submitting

Please make sure that:

  • you have entered the correct locality and region;
  • the point on the map matches the site’s actual location;
  • the photographs show this specific site;
  • the description is based on information known to you or on verifiable sources.

You do not need to write the entry like an academic reference. The main thing is to provide accurate information. Editing, clarification of wording, and translation into other languages can be done during moderation.
