Presentation “Women’s History Through the Lens of Postcards: From Macroanalysis to Micronarratives (Based on the ‘Pishu Tebe’ Digital Archive)”

From July 27 to 31, the Pochtovoye project was presented at DH2026, the 36th annual international conference on Digital Humanities, held in Daejeon, South Korea.

Timur Khusyainov introduced the “Pishu Tebe” (“Writing to You”) digital archive project to an international audience and gave a presentation entitled “Women’s History Through the Lens of Postcards: From Macroanalysis to Micronarratives (Based on the ‘Pishu Tebe’ Digital Archive).” The study demonstrates the potential of using large collections of historical postcards and digital methods to explore personal histories and everyday life.

In addition, conference participants received several dozen postcards from the Pochtovoye project. They served as small souvenirs from Russia and as a way to introduce the international community to contemporary postcard culture.
